Where in the World is Big Norm?
Written by Norm Peel

As many of this columns avid readers may know this past week was my 4 CFL games one weekend trip; the one time this year where the CFL schedule aligned so I could make all the games. This idea came to fruition last year during grey cup (suffice to say beers were involved), and once the schedule came out we got lucky with a seat sale and we were on our way. We left Regina at 6am Thursday went to Edmonton for the Stamps and Eskimos. Friday morning flew to Toronto for the Lions and Argos. Saturday to Winnepeg for the Als and Bombers and then home for the Ticats and Riders Sunday. Great expirence although I certainly am tired, when sleeping in is defined as 6am, and a maximum of 6 hours sleep is had a night you tend to be tired.

Where in the World is Big Norm?

I have been slow to start writing columns this year, well back by popular demand Where in The world is Bignorm makes its return. I have to say I really don't have a plan for writing this column tonight, and I don't have much for pictures, in fact more than half of them have been provided by others. But what the hell I got nothing else to do tonight.

Anyway this season sure started well a 2-0 start coming home for two....... oops ok so now we are 2-2 with a struggling offence. This picture is me with some folks at the 2007 grey cup, just want to remind the riders that the motion being demonstrated is that of a first down you get them when you don't go 2 and out or turnover the ball

I haven't written one of these in a while, so I grabbed 6 beer and figured it was time to write. Alot has happened since the end of the season not the least of which is Rider Gm Eric Tillmans legal troubles, I hope that the situation is resolved quickly so we can all get back to tralking about football and the upcoming season.  Anyway I had planned to write a few mini-columns at grey cup but due to the sudden death of my Sister I was back in Regina before I had the opportunity. So this column is alot of what was going to be written during grey cup week, a few pictures from the season I liked, and some other stuff I figured I would share.

As you can tell from the title, its been a couple weeks since my last column. What has happened in the last few weeks? Looks like both Canada and the United States elected new governments, my RRSP's took a beating, November arrived, and The Saskatchewan Roughriders got a second consecutive home playoff game. I hope you got your tickets already, I paid for mine when I re-newed my season tickets last year. Anyway I guess I should share some pictures from the last three weeks of games and the plaza of honor.

Owch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That game hurt, I have to say likely the worst game I have seen in a couple years, the only good thing was that the beer was cold, other than that not much went well. Hopefully we rebound this week, and I wonder if this loss isn't going to serve as a galvinizing force for the team and launch us into the playoffs. In the end we'll let the football experts chew on that game and I'll try and wipe it from my memory.

Thanksgiving weekend took the riders and thousands of rider fans to Calgary for what I have billed as my last road trip of the year (other than grey cup). Although the game did not go as planned (not even $%#% close actually) the weekend was a great time. I big shout out to all the readers of this column, I had no idea that many people read this thing. Thanks for reading!!
